In over 30 years of practicing law, Steve Feldman has obtained numerous multi-million dollar decisions and settlements in business and real property litigation matters.   As an environmental litigator, Steve has successfully defended businesses in CERCLA litigation matters and before US EPA administrative tribunals.  

With an emphasis on real estate, commercial, financial fraud, trade secret, intellectual property, and environmental law, he builds his extraordinary record of favorable outcomes on a foundation of exemplary client service. 

Steve is a graduate of UCLA and Loyola Law School Los Angeles and is lead trial counsel for Goldfarb, Sturman & Averbach. 

 

Recent Notable Achievements Include:

• Obtained a $9 million judgment in a bench trial in Federal Court involving the theft of an e-commerce trade secret customer list.
  
  
• Successfully represented a chemical manufacturer in defending against a multi-party Federal Court CERCLA related action involving the contamination of underground drinking water supplies of a local community which had been contaminated by other defendants.
  
  
• Successfully tried a matter against an insurance company denying first party benefits to a homeowner under their insurance policy, recovering substantial damages.
  
  
• Successfully tried a real property related partnership dissolution matter on behalf of a passive investor, involving misappropriation of hundreds of thousands of dollars of partnership funds by the managing partner.
  
  
• Successfully tried a real property specific performance action, recovering substantial monetary damages in addition to title to the property, plus attorney fees for the plaintiff.
  
  
• Successfully tried a matter involving the physical abuse of an elderly person, obtaining a substantial monetary judgment.
  
  
• Settled a multi-million dollar matter involving very sophisticated surreptitious remote computer access into a secure computer database.
  
  
• Defeated the US EPA in a FIFRA related administrative trial against a distributor of chemical products, and then obtained a substantial award of attorney fees against the Government under the Equal Access to Justice Act.
  
  
• Defeated a major public utility in a bench trial involving an easement, and then prevailed on appeal by the utility.
  
  
• Resolved litigation against a major financial institution involved in a sophisticated investment fraud, obtaining substantial damages for a defrauded investor.  (Confidential Settlement)
  
  
• Resolved litigation against an international corporation involved in website copyright infringement, obtaining substantial damages for the infringed company.  (Confidential Settlement)
  
  

In a matter involving a multi-million dollar international investment fraud,  was successful at the trial court level, and then on appellate writ review,  in obtaining personal jurisdiction against European banks.   Anglo Irish Bank v. Superior Ct. (2008) 165 Cal.App.4th 969

Steve has also been retained by other attorneys as a Mediator and Arbitrator to resolve their business litigation matters.
